They say you can’t really understand another person until you’ve walked a mile in their shoes. Well how about 500 miles?! The movie “The Way” is all about a father who travels to Europe after his son died attempting to complete the “El Camino De Santiago,” a 500-mile pilgrimage from France to Spain. And the father ends up completing the trek himself! The inspiring film is in theaters for one night only on May 16th. Nine-time Emmy winner David Sams sits down with writer/director, Emilio Estevez, who shares about this special film which stars his dad, Martin Sheen. The highly acclaimed film’s first theatrical release was in 2011, but since has been running “a quiet marathon” garnering millions of fans. Now it’s back in theaters for a new generation to embrace.
